From awareness to confidence.
How Chumash Enterprises built a workforce that trusts its data, one Learning Experience at a time.
Every strategy has a last mile.
Chumash Enterprises runs a casino and resort, a hotel, a health clinic, a museum, loyalty operations, and the Tribal functions behind them, with slightly over 2,000 Team Members. Data moves between all of it every day.
The pieces of a data strategy were in place. What remained was the last mile: the gap between what the strategy intends and what people do at their desks. Data Matters set out to close it, not by enforcing rules, but by building confidence and habit.
Four episodes. One guided journey.
DataQG delivered Data Matters as a guided learning journey, not a one time event. Each episode paired short form instruction with interactive practice and reinforcement, and each anchored a single concept as a repeatable behavior.
Structured against ADKAR, so each episode did more than inform. Reinforced with recognition, so momentum had a visible shape.
Most programs create awareness and stop. This one cleared all five.
DataQG builds every program around the ADKAR change model, developed by Prosci, because lasting change needs all five conditions, not just the first. Prosci is a widely used, research based change management methodology focused on the people side of organizational change. On the post-program readiness pulse, Data Matters met the threshold on every one.
Reinforcement is the condition most programs miss, and the one that sets up sustainment. A condition is shown as met at a 4.0 average with at least 80% of respondents rating 4 or 5.
Awareness is easy to claim. Behavior change is the proof.
Team members rated the same behaviors before and after, on a five point scale. Every behavior moved up, and the two largest gains landed on the exact habits the program targeted.
A voluntary program people wanted to recommend.
Data Matters was voluntary, which makes the engagement meaningful. Across 1,361 accounts, team members produced 1,612 episode completions, 337 finished all four to earn Data Champion status, and the follow-up survey drew a 69.1% response rate. Advocacy landed at a Net Promoter Score of 58.
Your data strategy deserves a people strategy.

Figures reflect the Data Matters program at Chumash Enterprises, April to July 2026, across a valid population of 1,361 accounts. Survey figures reflect 233 post-program responses, a 69.1% response rate. Behavior and concept scores are matched self-assessments on a five point scale, measured on a consistent basis before and after. ADKAR readiness reflects a post-program pulse against the Prosci ADKAR model; a condition is shown as met at a 4.0 average with at least 80% of respondents rating 4 or 5. Net Promoter Score is a point in time measure of advocacy.
